Level two course Sugar Art
What do I need to bring for this three-day course: You need yourself, an apron, and a tee shirt (it can get pretty hot in the room with 7 people working). If you would like to take your show pieces home with you please bring a polystyrene container and some tooth picks to keep the pieces in place. A lid would be useful if you want to keep the air off so they keep longer.
Pre requisite: It is a pre requisite that participants of Level Two have
first completed the Level One Course. This is to ensure that you have the basic
techniques and knowledge of pulling, blowing, casting and cooking of Isomalt/sugar.
The aim of Level two is to perfect your basic techniques and gain more practice with airbrushing, working independently, casting your own backgrounds and making your own ideas a reality. You also learn how to make rock sugar.
Day one: Perfecting the basic techniques by making a swan couple. Beginning the first 40 cm showpiece.
Day two: Finishing the first showpiece then starting on the showpiece of your choice, allowing your creation to become a reality.
Day three: Putting the final touches to your own showpiece, the highlight of the course.
On completion of the course you will be presented with a certificate.
We provide: Tea, coffee, water and a morning and afternoon snack. All work materials and consumables for the course.
Start and finish times: The course will start at 8.00am and finish at 6.30pm with a one hour lunch break and a short morning and afternoon tea. The finish time can vary depending on the participants on the course but we attempt to finish a little earlier on the final day.
Course fees and dates
Please note that Simply Sugar Courses will not be running in 2010 as Silvio will be out of the country, it is also possible that he will be away again in 2011 so if you are keen to complete one of our courses we would recommend that you book next year (2009). More courses can be added next year if the above courses are fully booked.
Simply Sugar will however remain open for your equipment needs while Silvio is away.
